Jiangning Citizen Center

The Jiangning Citizen Center project was divided into two areas: Civil Affairs and Civil Culture, connected by the Civil Hall. The Center provides a one-stop service for the citizens in the Jiangning district of Nanjing City. It includes spaces for centers for women, children, and youth activities, a citizen’s lecture hall, conference centers, a theatre, a university for the elderly, and a government affairs center.

High efficient, energy-saving, uniform and brightness was the main consideration of lighting design for public areas, offices and meeting rooms. 4000K light color was chosen for these areas.  The theater and other performance exhibition spaces were mainly based on 3000K light color, creating a more artistic atmosphere. RGBW changeable color strips and LED projection lamps were used in the theatre to allow for different performance needs and to create a dynamic atmosphere.           

A centralized lighting control system was used to maximize the Lighting Power Density (LPD) value and energy-saving of the public building. The project’s goal was to be an environmentally-friendly citizen center which promoted healthy lifestyles. The Center has become a showcase for green and ecological concepts, and is certified as a three stars Green Building in China.
