Lingshan Town · Nianhua Bay
Lingshan Town · Nianhua Bay locates on the shore of Taihu Lake in Wuxi, China. It is a world-class Zen culture resort. Covering about 100 hectares, the resort integrates commercial district, ecological wetland, vacation residential area, conference center, and a boutique hotel. It aims to promote green lifestyle with the wisdom of oriental Zen culture.
Respecting architecture and landscape design concepts, ATL consultants focused on the richness of “Zen”, emphasizing the unique poetic mood of “Zen Life” in harmony with nature, with “hidden, soft, simple, beautiful and concise”. Lighting performance is the main starting point to create a new landmark for the revitalization of traditional culture.
The commercial streets convey a cheerful and pleasant environment, with the lighting based on 2700K warm light color, and the multi-level lighting forms a freehand effect. The lighting is mainly transmitted through the interior, supplemented by signboards, lanterns, underground lamps, and direction lights. Forming a commercial atmosphere, the lighting not only creates a beautiful nightscape but also attracts visitors lingering in the streets. The floodlighting luminaires are hidden to the utmost extent, resulting in the effect of “invisible fixture but visible light”. The position of every lantern is carefully considered, and the Zen effect of the light is formed as “one light one scene”. The ambience light is fully considered in landscape lighting planning. While providing normal basic lighting, the entire space environment is also concerned in landscape lighting, a lantern is part of the landscape, part of the building, and part of the space environment.
The Lighting design of Lingshan Town · Nianhua Bay won the 2nd prize of Shanghai Magnolia Lighting Design Award 2018, and the 3rd prize of AALD Lighting Design 2016.
