Five Seal Mandala
Located in the Lingshan scenic area, Five Seal Mandala is a Tibetan Buddhist style building serving as an exhibition for Tibetan Buddhist culture.
After in-depth discussions with interior designers, ATL developed a lighting scheme with 10,000 butter lanterns on all sides to create the atmosphere of a Tibetan Buddhist temple. Butter lanterns are customized from LED light sources, with brightness and twinkle controlled by a DMX512 lighting control system. The effect of flashing lights is similar to traditional butter lamps with glass covers found in many Tibetan Buddhist temples.
Since their grand opening, Five Seal Mandala has hosted many Tibetan Buddhists from all over China. This project won the first prize of lighting design by CIEC in 2013
